COST OF LIVING. Pood and clothing are not doar in Hong Kong rs dompared with England, though they have risen in price during the last ten years. rent is very high but bachelors can lodge with private families or form Hesses with friends, when the cost of living should be moderate.
PRIVATE PUPILS. Assistant Masters may, with the con- sent of the Governing Body, take private pupils. There is a fairly stondy demand for tutors in Hong Kong amongst Germans and the families of Naval end Military Officers, elso in connexion with the Oxford
Local Examinations.
PROMOTION to the second grade when opportunity may offer will be considered on the personal merits of the Masters in the First Grade.
